Desmond Kwesi Blackmore known in showbiz circles as D-Black is a Ghanaian artist / entrepreneur who built his Black Avenue Group empire in a space of 10 years. Forbes Africa described the young mogul in their May 2019 issue as Ghana’s most successful music mogul Desmond ‘D-Black’ Blackmore.

The Artist / CEO / Entrepreneur/ Philantrophist has broken boundaries in the entertainment industry. From releasing hit records, being nominated and winning awards, performing
around the world, leading the nightlife scene with his creation ‘Club Onyx’, his revered Record Label ‘Black Avenue Muzik’, another hospitality establishment ‘Oasis Lounge’, the recently launched ‘Enjoyment Radio’ as well producing concerts & music tours across Ghana & the rest of the world via his Livewire Events company.

D-Black has taken his craft and hiphop- Afrobeats fusion style of music internationally and has performed overseas in London, New York, Boston, Dubai, Toronto, Johannesburg,

D-Black took a break from the music scene in 2015 till 2020 following the disappearance of his friend Castro after their two singles ‘Personal Person by D-Black ft. Castro’  and  ‘Seihor by Castro ft. D-Black’ topped charts that same year.

He delved deep into hospitality and entrepreneurship and during this period built a night club, a lounge, a radio station and set up his revered events firm ‘Livewire Events’ during this period before he got back into the music scene in October 2020 when he released ‘Falaa’ featuring Medikal as he readied his comeback album. The Enjoyment Minister as he is affectionately called these days released his 5th studio album ‘Loyalty’ in July 2021 and the deluxe version in December 2021 with the smash number 1 hit Enjoyment Minister featuring Stonebwoy & Quamina MP as well as the smash ladies record ‘Sheege’ ft. Gyakie.

He’s been nominated and won at several award shows including the BET Awards (USA) Channel O Awards (SA) , Ghana Music Awards, 4Syte Music Video Awards, Sound City Awards (Nigeria), Ghana Entertainment Awards (USA), The MTV Africa Music Video Awards & more.

D-Black is currently nominated for the Overall Best Artist of the Year 2022, Album of the Year, Afrobeats Song of the year and more at the 3 Music Awards.

D-Black is scheduled to kick off ‘The Enjoyment Tour’ with D-Black & Friends in Ghana (April - May, July – August 2022), South Africa (May 2022), Europe (June 2022), USA (June 2022).
